Yasha is the name of the jeweler and the jewelry. Dr. Joie Taylor, aka “Yasha”, quickly gained a reputation for being more than an artist. Called a modern day renaissance woman, she is both artistic and analytical. She is hold a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Cornell University and the influences of her B.S. in Civil Engineering from Clark Atlanta University can be seen in many of her structural and deco pieces. Elements of dance are present in graceful rounded forms of art pendants, while her life as a performing musician are obvious in her stage pieces.
Yasha apprentices and continually educates for the detailed quality, as she both hand-makes and designs her product. After working at as a project manager for 4 years in Atlanta and then teaching at the University of Hawaii Maui College for 6 years she followed her passion and learned metal smithing at the Hui Noeu Arts and Craft school. She specializes in eye catching color schemes, wearable art pieces, and statements with an emphasis on one-of-a-kind pieces. Her design is a unique blend of fine, fashion, and art jewelry. Yasha understands her clients needs for jewelry: captivating, form fit, genuine, easy, something you can’t find anywhere else.
